And finally… music while you work

Playing music in the workplace is a cost efficient way to improve staff morale according to a survey by the MusicWorks campaign, which found that 71% of employees wanted music played in the workplace.

It also highlighted that 85% of employees felt happier when listening to music at work and 25% were less likely to take time off sick if good music is being played at work.

This set us wondering how the music would be chosen, and what different effects may be achieved.  Would you want to risk animosity towards the ‘boss man’ by playing Nine to Five?  Or relax your staff too much with ‘summertime and the living is easy’?

If you have any suggestions for suitable (or unsuitable) motivational music do let us know and we’ll pass them on!

Before you decide to play music in your place of work, don’t forget that you will probably need a licence from PRS.
