Free and impartial pre-claim conciliation by Acas helps resolve disputes quickly to avoid the costs, stress and time associated with employment tribunals.
The first step in resolving any dispute must be to invoke company policies and procedures, and Hardwick HR can help by providing them and in guiding you through the process when the need arises. However, when a case looks like ending up in tribunal, Acas may help resolve things impartially, more quickly and at less cost.
Since the service was expanded in April 2009 over 80% of the 4,000 cases dealt with have been resolved without tribuanl claims.
This sevice is available to employers, employees and their professional advisors who have tried to resolve problems through workplace procedures, believe the dispute may end in a tribunal claim and are prepared to discuss the problem in good faith to try and find a solution.
The service addresses any workplace issue that could turn into an employment tribunal claim, including:

unfair dismissal

discrimination

redundancy selection or payments

deductions from wages or unpaid notice/holiday

time off and flexible working

equal pay.
Specially trained conciliators will help explore all proposals to find a mutually acceptable way forward and then help draw up a binding written agreement.
If at the end of the process agreement cannot be reached, the case can still progress to a tribunal.
